Types Of Access Control System

Proximity Cards

proximity-cardsProximity cards and readers are the most commonly used Access Control system these days. The name proximity is derived from the fact that there is no direct contact between the card and the sensor unlike some of the older technologies. The proximity card can read from the range of 4" to 2 feet depending on the type of reader used (either short or long range). The cards are available in 26 bit or 32 bit weighand formats.
The card emits a signal, which is read by the card reader. Every card has a unique number and comes with a facility code, which is unique to the particular facility. These will be linked to the employee register to obtain daily and monthly reports. The card is programmed in the system, and when the card is swiped it is checked for authenticity and the access is granted. This in turn actuates various access devices / barriers.

Biometric

biometric-1Biometrics are auto-mated methods of identifying a person based on a physio-logical characteristic of face, fingerprints, iris, retinal, vein and voice. As the highest level of security requires more accurate personal identification devices not to allow them fraudulent transactions. We provide standalone / network

biometric-2Finger biometric and facial recognition systems as well as credential reader peripherals with wiegand formats and various outputs for other security control panel integrations.

Smart Card

biometric-1The Smart Cards as the name suggests are an active device and have a memory chip attached to it to store the data. These cards are used not only for access but other applications like cash vending centers, canteen applications etc.

The Smart Cards as the name suggests are an active device and have a memory chip attached to it to store the data. These cards are used not only for access but other applications like cash vending centers, canteen applications etc.

The cards are available either in a contact or contact less format. These cards are used in conjunction with smart card readers / writers. This system typically consists of smart card reader / writer, controller, applicable software and smart cards.

The smart card has a unique code and all the data programmed through the software. The data is stored in memory like currency for canteen application etc. The moment the card is swiped the currency gets decreased by the amount used and the same can be recharged at a later date.
